The much delayed Hyderabad metro railway project has got a new lease of life with the Andhra Pradesh (AP) government receiving fresh bids from eight companies for the development of the Rs 1200-crore project. Some of the companies that bid for the project are Larsen and Toubro (L&T), Reliance, Lanco OHL, GVK Samsung, Essar Leighton and CR 18. The project will cover three traffic corridors of the city with 66 stations, with the total length hovering around 71.16 km. The project got delayed due to several reasons, with the unexpected death of former AP chief minister Y S Rajshekhara Reddy being one of them.
