Container Corporation of India (Concor), leading mover containerized trains across the country, is planning to launch two more terminals in the eastern region. While work for the Rourkela terminal has started another one proposed at Jharsuguda is still at the drawing board stage.

The government organization has already got terminals in operations at Amingaon (Guwahati), Durgapur, Tatanagar, Balasore, Fatuah (Patna), Majherhat and Shalimar (both at Kolkata) and Haldia (port-side terminal) in the eastern India.
Increasing cargo throughput seems to have convinced the Concor management to start the new facilities in the region which of late has seen many infra and mining projects coming up. |
