Indian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA)

The Indian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA) is the apex body representing and protecting the interests of ship owners across India. The organisation was formed with the objective of integrating the Indian shipping industry with the world economy.
 
The organisation was incorporated in 1929 with seven company members and four individual members. At present, this non-profit organisation has 36 members.
 
Some of the chief objectives of INSA are as follows:
  • Coordinating activities with various other shipping associations, chambers and federations in India and abroad
  • Organising conferences, seminars and meetings to disseminate important information about the Indian shipping industry
  • Extending support to research institutions and universities
  • Taking measures and influencing government policies to benefit ship owners in the country
  • Publishing journals and periodicals to spread awareness.

By becoming a member of the INSA, you can raise issues pertaining to the shipping industry and influence policy amendments. You also have a platform to interact with shipping companies from across the world and share the industry best practices to enhance your business prospects.
