India Ports Association (IPA)

The Indian Ports Association (IPA) was formed in 1966 with the objective of increasing the efficiency of Indian ports. This apex industry association was created under the aegis of the major ports of the country and its functioning body comprises the Chairmen of these ports.

The IPA is actively involved in promoting engineering, technical, managerial and financial enhancements to provide a boost to the Indian ports. It also works in close collaboration with various domestic and international organisations such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) to enhance the shipping sector’s prospects.

The organisation regularly publishes consultancy studies that have been compiled by a team of experts from various fields, including port operations, cargo handling, harbour engineering and hydrology. In addition, the IPA organises seminars and workshops on both domestic and international levels to discuss issues pertaining to the Indian ports.

By becoming a member of the IPA, you can participate in various workshops and seminars to network with cargo handling companies and logistics providers from around the world.
